Trump Expresses Hope of Meeting Lukashenka

The press service of Aliaksandr Lukashenka has published a list of Independence Day greetings received for the holiday marked in Belarus on July 3. According to the statement, greetings were sent by the leaders of the United States, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Türkiye, North Korea, Pakistan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Myanmar, South Africa, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Cambodia, Palestine, Sudan and Chad, as well as by the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Greetings were also sent by Pope Leo XIV and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

U.S. President Donald Trump wished Lukashenka and the people of Belarus a peaceful and prosperous year and expressed hope for a future meeting.

“On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Belarus as you celebrate your Republic Day on 3 July. This day marks the liberation of Minsk from Nazi occupation and will forever stand as a reminder of the Belarusian people’s struggle for freedom. I extend my sincere wishes to you and the people of Belarus for a peaceful and prosperous year ahead, and I hope to meet with you in the future,” his message said.

Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed readiness to develop bilateral relations and high-quality cooperation between the two countries.

“I am ready to work together with you to promote the high-level development of bilateral relations and advance high-quality cooperation between our two sides for the benefit of our two peoples,” he wrote.

In his message, Vladimir Putin said the allied relationship between Russia and Belarus is based on the traditions of brotherly friendship forged during the war.

“The bonds of brotherly friendship and mutual assistance, forged during the harsh years of war, remain today a reliable foundation for the development of the allied relationship between Russia and Belarus,” the Russian president said.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the prospects for further development of Kazakhstan-Belarus relations, while Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev described Belarus’ achievements as evidence of the “effectiveness” of Lukashenka’s policies.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev pointed to the traditions of friendship between the peoples of the two countries, while Tajik President Emomali Rahmon spoke of Belarus’ achievements in socio-economic development.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov wrote about Belarus’ sustainable development and the “strengthening of its authority” on the international stage, while Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would continue to deepen.

Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh said he was ready to continue cooperation with Lukashenka, while Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed to the role of dialogue between the two countries in maintaining peace in the region.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un expressed confidence in the development of North Korea-Belarus relations following his meeting with Lukashenka in Pyongyang in March this year. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi noted the strong ties between the two countries and expressed hope that they would continue to strengthen.

“Congratulations continue to arrive,” Lukashenka’s press service said.
