In Homiel, at least three more people have been tried for participating in the “Hukanne Viasny” ritual celebration held at a restaurant on March 21.
The three individuals were tried under an administrative article on an “unauthorised mass event”, Flagstok writes.
On March 21, several people celebrated “Hukanne Viasny” at the Spadchyna restaurant in Homiel. They were detained for “violating the procedure for holding mass events”.
It is known that at least one person received 15 days of administrative arrest, while five people were fined 4,500 Belarusian roubles each. One person, considered to be the organiser, was fined 6,750 Belarusian roubles.
Among those fined was police officer Viktar Shypkou, a recipient of the “For Spiritual Revival” award for contributions to preserving folk traditions.
