Customs officers had information that some drivers might have been involved in the illegal import of cigarettes into Poland. Six passenger cars were sent for detailed inspection, and cigarettes were found in each of them. They were hidden in vehicle floors, engine compartments and trunk lids.
In total, 25,000 cigarettes were seized, with a total value of more than 25,000 zlotys (7,000 dollars). The drivers, Belarusian citizens, were fined between 2,300 zlotys and 20,000 zlotys (645–5,600 dollars).
