Investigators from the Investigative Committee searched the apartment of Vasil Pleshkunou in Mahiliou. The search took place on 12 May, reports MAYDAY.TEAM.
According to Pleshkunou, the reason was his participation in the elections to the Coordination Council.
Vasil Pleshkunou worked as a teacher in Mahiliou. In 2020, he received administrative detention for participating in protests. In 2023, he was detained by GUBAZiK (The Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption). After that, he left Belarus.
The elections to the Coordination Council began on 11 May. Earlier, security forces visited relatives of candidates living in Belarus. Electoral lists participating in the elections were designated as “extremist formations”.
