Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou received copies of the credentials of Ghana’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia and Belarus Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah.
The sides discussed preparations and the agenda for a planned visit to Belarus this year by Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, as well as joint political and economic events. They reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in industrial cooperation, agriculture and education.
The two sides confirmed mutual support in international organisations. Ryzhankou welcomed the work of the Ghanaian side “on multilateral platforms in the fight against neocolonialism and the slave trade”, according to a statement by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
Following the talks, the sides outlined “specific steps” for further developing cooperation.
Earlier it was reported that Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama is ready to visit Minsk in June.
