Russia Says Fuel Problems Are Not Affecting Goods Deliveries

Fuel supply problems in Russia are not affecting the delivery of goods, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov said.

“Temporary restrictions on fuel sales are requiring adjustments to the usual refuelling practices for vehicles delivering goods, but they do not affect the availability or accessibility of goods in shops and other sales channels,” he said, according to TASS.

According to Alikhanov, the ministry is monitoring prices for socially significant goods and will take the necessary measures if they change as a result of the fuel situation. He said no such signals had been received so far.

Fuel supply problems in Russia have emerged amid an increase in Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries.

The fuel situation will be the subject of a meeting chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin later today.

“He will hold a meeting with members of the Russian government this afternoon. The main topic will be the functioning of the transport and fuel sectors under the current conditions,” presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
