Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) announced the detention on May 12 of three Polish citizens on suspicion of espionage. The operation was carried out under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office in Białystok.

The detainees are between 48 and 62 years old. The court ordered their arrest for three months. They have been charged with espionage, producing and distributing propaganda and disinformation materials, preparing sabotage and diversionary activities, promoting symbols supporting the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, and publicly glorifying the war.

According to ABW, the suspects were gathering intelligence on NATO facilities in Poland on behalf of a Russian citizen linked to the FSB. They were also trained to carry out sabotage tasks, handle firearms and apply combat tactics.
