On March 18–24, Russia did not allow three shipments of nuts, dried fruits, and orchids to enter Belarus due to missing documents, reported Rosselkhoznadzor.
The vehicles were stopped in the Smolensk region of Russia. In one case, 700 potted orchids were being transported from Moscow to Pinsk. In two others, 2 tonnes of nuts and fruits were being shipped from Moscow to Minsk. In all cases, the carriers did not have phytosanitary certificates for the cargo.
A phytosanitary inspection did not reveal any contamination with quarantine organisms. Nevertheless, the goods were returned to the place of shipment in Moscow. The carriers were held administratively liable.
