Turkish news agency IHA published a video from the Russian-Belarusian border filmed by Turkish drivers. The footage shows a truck burning on the roadside, as well as a truck with a damaged cab at a parking area near the border.
“They hit the truck, the truck is on fire. We are in the epicenter of the war, we are fleeing. A drone struck here right before our eyes. This is already the third or fourth truck that has been hit”, a driver says in the video.
At the truck parking area, drivers talk about an explosion and a drone on the Russian-Belarusian border. One of the drivers says that he “feels sorry for the people.”
According to IHA, there were fatalities and injuries as a result of the strike — citizens of Iran and Belarus.
The Krasny Kamen checkpoint on the Russian-Belarusian border was not operating today due to a drone strike, which caused two trucks to catch fire, Flagshtok reported earlier.
The Ensonhaber outlet quoted two drivers who witnessed the strike. One said drones hit two Iranian vehicles and then struck a Belarusian truck. He also claimed that two Belarusian military personnel were injured.
“We were traveling from Russia through the Homiel border crossing. When we were processing our documents, a Ukrainian drone attack began. Two Iranian vehicles exploded completely. When we tried to escape, they hit a Belarusian vehicle that was traveling in front of us. We managed to safely leave the area past the burning vehicle. We saw that two Belarusian military personnel were injured. We are all right now, but our lives are in danger,” one driver said.
According to another eyewitness, the attack began at around 7 a.m. while the drivers were sleeping.
“The explosions occurred near the Iranian vehicles that were parked next to us. When we woke up, there were already drones above us. When we tried to leave, we saw that other vehicles had also been hit. Thank God, we are all right and none of us was injured”, he said.
