Lithuania has cancelled the air raid alert. It had been declared earlier today due to a suspected drone spotted in Belarus near the Lithuanian border.
Initially, the alert was declared in the Ignalina, Utena, Švenčionys and Zarasai districts. It was later extended to Vilnius County, where the alert level was raised to “Red”, requiring people to move to shelters.
According to media reports, senior officials were moved to shelters. Vilnius Airport was also closed.
The threat of an air attack in Vilnius County was cancelled at 10:53, the Lithuanian army said. Airport operations were also resumed. Two flights were redirected to Riga Airport.
At the same time, a yellow alert level was introduced in Alytus district, but it was also cancelled shortly afterwards.
A possible threat to airspace was also declared in Latvia today.
