YouTube may have removed the channels of Belarusian state media outlets because of a complaint filed by Belarusian Investigative Center founder Stanislau Ivashkevich over a video by Raman Pratasevich that was released yesterday on STV.

In his programme “Bez Prykrytsya”, Protasevich disclosed Ivashkevich’s personal data, including his phone number and home address. The video also showed how to get to his apartment. Ivashkevich filed a complaint with YouTube over the video because it violated the platform’s rules, journalist Ihar Kuley wrote on Facebook.

As a result, the channels of STV, ONT and BelTA were removed.

The Information Ministry of Belarus said it reserved the right to take retaliatory measures. Belteleradiocompany warned that YouTube could be designated as extremist and fully blocked in Belarus.

It also became known today that the KGB had designated the Belarusian Investigative Center as an “extremist formation”.
