Sobyanin Says More Than 600 Drones Flew Toward Moscow

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 600 drones flew toward Moscow and the Moscow region today.

“From yesterday evening until 5 a.m. today, 620 UAVs flew toward the Moscow region, of which 180 drones were destroyed in the Moscow region. Emergency services are working at the sites where debris fell”, he wrote this morning.

After that statement, Sobyanin added information about another 17 drones.

Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported that more than 150 drones had been destroyed over the region and that three people were injured. According to him, debris hit private homes, and the roof of an apartment building caught fire.

In Kolomna, a trade pavilion near the Globus shopping center caught fire after UAV debris fell. Buildings housing the registry office and a store were also damaged, as were windows of a residential building on Soviet Square.

Wildberries’ logistics complex in the Moscow region was also damaged. A drone hit a warehouse belonging to the online marketplace near Atlant Park; the fire has been contained.
