Video-sharing platform YouTube has removed the official channels of Belarus’s largest state propaganda media outlets. The channels of BelTA, ONT and STV are no longer available on the platform.
Belarusian state media reacted immediately. The First News channel, which is part of the Belteleradiocompany structure, confirmed that the channels had been removed and said that “YouTube appears to have taken the final steps toward being recognised as an extremist platform and fully blocked in Belarus”.
