Kupala Theatre actor Ivan Kushniaruk has died. News of the artist’s death appeared today on his friends’ social media accounts.
The actor, who was only 34, died on June 27. Until today, the news had not been made public.
Ivan Kushniaruk was born in 1991 in Luninets and belonged to the younger generation of actors who joined the theatre in the 2010s.

He joined the Kupala Theatre in 2015, immediately after graduating from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. Ivan appeared in productions including “Shliakhtsits Zavalnia, or Belarus in Fantastic Stories”, “The Hangmen”, “Two Souls”, “The School for Taxpayers”, “1”/”First” and others.
The actor also worked extensively and actively in independent theatre projects by the Art Corporation company. In particular, the production that brought Ivan Kushniaruk prominence was “Guards at the Taj Mahal”, directed by Aliaksandr Yanushkevich. Ivan was regarded as one of the talented and promising actors in Belarusian theatre.
In 2020, the actor left the Kupala Theatre together with most of the company. According to his colleagues, shortly before his death, Ivan had been rehearsing the role of Marc Chagall for an upcoming project.
