A new “extremist formation” has been added to the Interior Ministry’s list. The decision was made by the KGB on May 7 and was added to the registry today.
The formation is listed as the “Belarusian Association of Journalists.” Iryna Buraya is allegedly linked to it. However, the registry lists not the BAJ website, but the Luninets-based website proinfo.news and its social media accounts.
It should be noted that the “Belarusian Association of Journalists” had already been designated an extremist formation by a KGB decision in February 2023.
As a reminder, in Belarus, extremism-related accusations are used by security forces to fight opponents of Lukashenka and dissent in general.
