Officers of the Minsk Region Interior Department, together with colleagues from Barysau, stopped a truck driven by a 39-year-old citizen of a neighboring country. They found about 19 tons of non-ferrous metal scrap worth nearly 30,000 rubles in the vehicle.
As the Interior Ministry reported, the driver had no documents for the cargo. The man said he had been buying non-ferrous metal in Belarus since last year and planned to deliver it to a collection point in his home country.
An administrative report was drawn up against the driver for violating the procedure for exporting ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap and waste from Belarus.
The man faces a large fine and confiscation of the subject of the offense.
