The body of a headless man was found on the bank of the Neman River near Popovich Street in Hrodna. No signs of a violent death were found.
Police believe the man was homeless. According to a preliminary assessment, he had been sleeping in sewer pipes, and his body was washed into the river by heavy rainfall.
“It is believed that more than a month had passed since his death, and the head became detached while the body was being carried away due to advanced decomposition,” the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee’s Department of Internal Affairs reported.
No signs of a violent death were found on the body. The circumstances of the man’s death are being established.
