Foreign investment in Belarus totalled $3.3 billion in the first quarter, according to data published by Belstat. Direct investment accounted for $2.87 billion of the total.
Foreign investors directed the largest amount of funds into trade, which received $1.69 billion, followed by industry with $936.2 million and construction with $161.7 million.
During the same period, Belarusian organisations invested $2.02 billion abroad, including $1.36 billion in direct investment.
Belarusian investment abroad was directed mainly into industry ($1.03 billion), trade ($632.3 million), and financial and insurance activities ($205.3 million).
