The Executive Committee of the European Fencing Confederation, at an online meeting, decided to reinstate the fencing federations of Belarus and Russia as members of the organisation. This was reported by the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
According to the committee, the reinstatement is temporary and will remain in effect until the next meeting of the European Fencing Confederation Congress. The federations will have the same rights and obligations as the confederation’s other members.
Belarusian fencers will be able to compete in all tournaments held under the auspices of the European Fencing Confederation, including the European Under-23 Championships, the Cadet European Championships, and competitions in the European youth, cadet and children’s circuits (under 14).
