Belarus’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection is investigating reports of possible pollution of the Dzitva River in the Lida district of the Hrodna region. The ministry’s press service announced the inspection.
As part of the investigation, the ministry’s regional offices collected surface water samples on July 6. Specialists will carry out laboratory tests to determine whether the water quality exceeds the established standards.
Once the inspection is completed, the ministry said it will conduct a detailed analysis of the situation. If violations of environmental legislation are identified, measures will be taken to stop them, and those responsible will be held accountable in accordance with the law, the ministry’s press service said.
