Aliaksei Shkadarevich, Director of the Unitary Enterprise “STC LEMT” BelOMO and an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, has arrived in Myanmar at the head of a Belarusian delegation.
The Belarusians met with Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw and Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Wah Wah Maung.
“During the meeting, the parties held an open and friendly exchange of views on cooperation in the field of science and technology, which is one of the areas of interaction under the Roadmap for the Development of Cooperation between Myanmar and Belarus for 2026–2028, signed during the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Myanmar, as well as on promoting investment to develop Myanmar’s science and technology sector, ensuring the transfer of technologies contributing to various production industries through research and development activities, and expanding trade and economic ties between the two countries,” the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of Myanmar said.
The meeting at the Ministry of Science and Technology was described in similar terms.
“During the meeting, the parties held a friendly and open discussion on cooperation between Myanmar and the Republic of Belarus for the development of science and technology, as well as human resource development,” the statement said.
STC LEMT has for more than 30 years specialised in research, development, production and modernisation of optoelectronic and laser devices. The company’s main areas of activity include optical sights and sighting systems for light small arms, laser rangefinders, laser fire control systems, multi-channel surveillance and targeting systems, and counter-UAV systems.
