The Defence Ministry is holding its annual training session, “Military Security and Defence of the State”, today. The event is being led by Defence Minister Viktar Khrenin.
The training session is being conducted with the participation of the leadership of regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, as well as military commissars from the regions and Minsk. The State Secretary of the Security Council and representatives of the Defence Ministry, General Staff and security ministries have also been invited.
“The purpose of the training session is to improve the level of preparedness of the leadership of regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee in matters of territorial defence.”, the ministry said.
Participants will be introduced to the role of territorial troops in new forms of warfare, the procedures of the Security Council and methods for conducting training during combat coordination.
Practical exercises and demonstrations of the main types of aircraft in service with the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defence Forces, as well as joint actions by the army, territorial troops and internal troops, are also planned.
The training session is being held at the Lida District Executive Committee.
