Belarusian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Yury Nikalaichyk met with President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Aug. 20. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry said that, with the assistance of the Belarusian Embassy, the Zimbabwean leader gave an interview to Belarusian television channel ONT.
The sides discussed the implementation of agreements reached between Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Emmerson Mnangagwa, including the Roadmap for Strategic Cooperation and Partnership for 2026-2030.
Particular attention was paid to agricultural cooperation. The discussions covered the continuation of the third phase of the agricultural mechanization program, the modernization of grain storage facilities and the development of agricultural education.
The sides also considered new areas of cooperation, including supplies of Belarusian veterinary vaccines with the prospect of establishing a joint venture, cooperation with the Zimbabwe Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs and tourism development.
Nikalaichyk also delivered to Mnangagwa a personal message from Lukashenka expressing condolences over the deaths in the sinking of a passenger ferry on Lake Kariba.
