High-speed rail service will allow passengers to travel from Minsk to Minsk National Airport in about 30 minutes. Kanstantsin Bayar, first deputy head of the passenger service department of the Belarusian Railway’s administration, said this, Belta reports.
The train is planned to operate on the Minsk – Garadzishcha – China-Belarus Industrial Park “Great Stone” – Minsk National Airport route. The section will be 41 km long, including 31 km of new tracks. The first stage of construction is currently underway. The project is included in the state program “Transport of Belarus” for 2026-2030.
According to Bayar, about 20 pairs of trains per day are planned.
“New rolling stock with improved consumer qualities and characteristics will operate on this route,” he said.
Stops are planned at Minsk-East station, which is connected to the metro, and at the “Great Stone” industrial park. This will provide transport links not only to the airport but also to logistics and industrial facilities in the area, the Belarusian Railway representative said.
Construction work will affect train traffic on the Minsk-Orsha section. A complete suspension of traffic is not planned, but the schedule will temporarily change due to technical breaks. Four stages of work are planned by the end of the year. Information about schedule changes is expected to be published at least 10 days before they take effect.
