Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Yury Seliverstau chaired the 35th meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group tasked with monitoring the situation regarding supplies to Russia. The meeting reviewed the results of work in the first quarter.

The embassy said Seliverstau highly assessed the export growth rates achieved, which were ahead of the established forecasts. He said the figures were good, but the level needed to be maintained “despite the unpredictability of external factors.” He also drew attention to “persistent negative trends in supplies of certain product categories and profits that a number of enterprises failed to receive.”

The meeting discussed:

  • the strategy for developing the distribution network of Belarusian enterprises on the Russian market as a whole and, in particular, the Belneftekhim concern (tire products), AMKADORA and the “Da domu” project, as well as expanding the “Belarusian Village” project;
  • efforts to reduce stocks of Belarusian machinery held by Russian dealers;
  • the adaptation of exporters to the introduction of the SPOT system;
  • the supply of Belarusian goods through online marketplaces, readiness for changes to Russian legislation concerning product labeling and the platform economy in general;
  • access for products to public procurement and state-supported programs, including in the context of supplies of jointly manufactured forestry equipment, as well as participation in the implementation of the national “Infrastructure for Life” project;
  • cooperation to remove barriers in freight forwarding and logistics, as well as digital barriers across the Union State as a whole.
