Belarusians remain in third place by crime levels among foreign nationals in Poland, behind citizens of Ukraine and Georgia.

According to Rzeczpospolita, citing data prepared by the police for the newspaper, 17,500 foreign nationals committed crimes in Poland last year. They were responsible for nearly 28,500 criminal offenses. Compared with 2024, the number of suspects increased by 1,067, while the number of recorded crimes rose by about 2,200.

In police statistics, the largest group consists of citizens of Ukraine — 10,602 people, or 849 more than in 2024. They are followed by citizens of Georgia — 1,780 people, which is 275 fewer than a year earlier. The statistics also include 1,032 citizens of Belarus. Their number decreased by 90 over the year. The publication does not provide data on the structure of crimes committed by Belarusians, but notes several trends related to other nationalities.

The most common offense among foreign nationals in the statistics is driving under the influence of alcohol — 3,949 people. Another 1,236 foreigners violated court bans on driving, while 350 were caught driving with revoked licenses. As an extreme example, the newspaper cites a foreign national stopped in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship who had a blood alcohol level of 2.5 promille and five active court bans on driving, including one valid until 2033. In addition, the individual was staying in the country illegally.

Another frequent offense is drug possession, with 2,158 people facing such charges. A total of 996 foreign nationals were accused of fraud, three quarters of them — 576 people — being citizens of Ukraine.

The publication also points to the continued activity of Georgian organized crime groups in Poland. Another notable trend is a sharp increase in the number of Colombians appearing in criminal statistics, which rose over the year from 127 to 324.
