The Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has announced the opening of registration for the third Women’s Political Leadership Academy, which will take place in Prague from September 13 to 18. The programme is intended for women who are already involved in public and political life or who seek to strengthen their influence.

Over the course of the week, participants will meet with politicians and diplomats and take part in practical sessions on political science, communications, public speaking, advocacy, conflict management, political branding, security and the fundamentals of diplomatic protocol.

The programme is open to women who hold Belarusian citizenship or identify as Belarusian, are legally residing outside Belarus and are able to travel to the Czech Republic. Applicants must also have a valid travel document, experience in political or civic engagement, and be able to attend the programme in person throughout the week.

Where applicants demonstrate equal motivation, priority will be given to those living in the Visegrád Group countries — Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary — as well as to women who have experienced political imprisonment. The organisers stress, however, that applications are welcome regardless of country of residence or previous experience.

“The Women’s Political Leadership Academy is an opportunity for women who have gone through repression to regain their strength, acquire new knowledge and confidence, and continue the struggle for a free and democratic Belarus,” Tsikhanouskaya said.

The programme will be conducted in Belarusian, Russian, Czech and English. Consecutive interpretation will be provided for sessions delivered in Czech.

Travel, accommodation and meal expenses for participants will be covered by the Office of the Democratic Forces of Belarus in the Czech Republic.

The academy is organised by the Office of the Democratic Forces of Belarus in the Czech Republic and the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, with the support of the Czech office of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung.

Registration is open until August 13, 2026.
