Belarus’ Ministry of Transport and Communications held another working meeting on export logistics. Representatives of exporters, freight forwarders and government agencies were invited to attend. The meeting was chaired by Transport Minister Aliaksei Liakhnovich.

According to the ministry’s press service, the main topics included:

  • eliminating bottlenecks in rail freight transportation, including providing Belarusian exporters with access to the national service for shipping cargo via consolidated container trains;
  • optimising rail tariff conditions for export cargo transportation;
  • organising shipments of Belarusian products through the Bronka port (St. Petersburg), among other issues.

The participants also discussed the operation of Russia’s system for confirming the expected delivery of goods, including the possibility of introducing a transitional period for Belarusian shipments, as well as issues faced by shippers when crossing the Belarusian-Russian border.
