Belarusian Man To Stand Trial For Fraud After Sending Onions Instead Of iPhones

A 21-year-old resident of the Viciebsk District will stand trial on charges of large-scale fraud. The case has been referred to court, the Viciebsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.

The young man posted online advertisements offering expensive electronic devices, mainly iPhone 16 Pro Max phones, at below-market prices. He sent parcels to buyers by cash on delivery, but instead of smartphones placed various items inside, including onions.

In this way, the accused obtained about 13,000 rubles. Eight people were affected by his actions.

The young man had previously been held criminally liable for a similar offence. He remains in custody.
