The Belarusian government has amended the rules governing the organisation of national exhibitions. The relevant Council of Ministers resolution “On Congress and Exhibition Activities” was signed by Aliaksandr Turchyn.

“The document has been drafted to provide comprehensive legal regulation of exhibition and congress activities both in Belarus and abroad,” the government’s press service reported.

The resolution expands the list of exhibitions and displays classified as national. They will now include not only exhibitions attended by or timed to coincide with visits by Aliaksandr Lukashenka, the prime minister and deputy prime ministers, but also those involving other designated officials, as well as the heads of state bodies and organisations subordinate to the government.

The document also defines the terminology used in the field of congress and exhibition activities. It formally designates the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) as the coordinator of these activities and sets out its functions.

The resolution establishes the procedure for preparing and approving the government’s calendar of key events and evaluating their results. It also sets out the procedure for BelCCI to compile and maintain a calendar of other events in this field.
