Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has hinted at possible actions against Belarus’s oil refining industry if Belarus does not stop supplying fuel to the Russian military.
“If he does not do it, we will,” Zelensky said while demanding that relay transmitters used to guide Russian drones be switched off on Belarusian territory. “Just as, for example, we are acting against his oil refining industry. We are doing everything to prevent the Russians from being able to sell oil and supply their army with diesel fuel and petroleum products. Because all of this is being used against us.
Today he is the main supplier, one of the main suppliers, to the Russian army. Lukashenka himself. Belarus itself. Can this be stopped? I am certain it is within his power, and this is exactly what he controls,” Zelensky said on June 19.
He also gave Aliaksandr Lukashenka one week to disable equipment on Belarusian territory that is allegedly being used to guide Russian drones in strikes against Ukraine.
