Belarus continues to develop military infrastructure near the Ukrainian border, despite the absence of a strike force there. State Border Guard Service of Ukraine spokesperson Andrii Demchenko said this during the Yedyni Novyny news marathon, Freedom reported.
According to him, this includes the construction of training grounds, logistics routes and facilities for accommodating personnel and equipment, primarily in the direction of the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.
The agency representative also said that Russia continues to put pressure on the Lukashenka regime, seeking the direct involvement of the Belarusian army in the war against Ukraine.
“Overall, according to intelligence units, Russia continues to put pressure on Belarus in an effort to force Minsk to join the war unleashed by Russia against our country on a larger scale with its own forces. Belarus is resisting this and is trying in every way not to succumb to this pressure. But the threat to Ukraine in this direction remains, and our primary task is to strengthen defence capabilities along the border and in border areas in order to be prepared for any possible developments”, he said.
