From August 25 to September 10, operational and tactical exercises involving the Air Force and Air Defense Forces will be held in Belarus. The exercise is led by Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces Major General Mikhail Matrosau.

During the first stage of the exercise, the Air Force and Air Defense Forces will practice providing air defense cover for protected facilities and troops against attacks by enemy air assault weapons, as well as maneuvering units of anti-aircraft missile formations.

The second stage will take place at the Ashuluk training range in Russia. An active phase involving live firing by aviation and anti-aircraft missile units is planned there.

“During the exercise, new methods and techniques for employing units will be practiced in accordance with the requirements for conducting combat operations under modern conditions.

This will make it possible to improve the training of commanders and staffs in controlling units during combat operations to repel attacks by an airborne enemy,” the Belarusian Defense Ministry reports.

It was also reported that a tactical exercise involving commandant military units began in Belarus today. In addition, on August 24, at the direction of Aliaksandr Lukashenka, a combat readiness inspection began at one of the artillery brigades.
