A three-month-old boy was killed in the city of Marhanets in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region as a result of a nighttime Russian drone attack. Another 11 people were injured, seven of them seriously. This was reported by head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Hanzha.
Those injured include a five-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. A 39-year-old man and women aged 33, 62, 40 and 41 were also hospitalized. Four people will receive outpatient treatment. Apartment buildings, a store, a cinema and cars were damaged in the city.
Over the course of the night, Russian forces attacked three districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 20 times with drones, artillery and an aerial bomb. Nikopol and the Pokrovska community also came under attack. In Synelnykove district, the Mykolaivska, Pokrovska and Vasylkivska communities were attacked, damaging an agricultural enterprise and a cultural center. In Samariv district, a private house was damaged in a strike on the Pishchanska community.
According to data from the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 152 Shahed-type attack drones and three Banderaol loitering munitions at Ukraine on the night of Aug. 15.
As of 9 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 124 drones and three Banderaol munitions. Hits by aerial attack weapons were recorded at 16 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at one location. The attack continued into the morning of Aug. 15.
