The Minsk Prosecutor’s Office has sent to court a criminal case against the chief doctor of a healthcare institution. He is accused of embezzlement through abuse of official powers.
According to the prosecution, the chief doctor entered into an employment contract with himself to perform work in a non-managerial position on a combination and secondary employment basis. In 2018–2023, he remained the chief doctor, while assigning the duties of the second position to subordinates. He kept the salary for the second position for himself.
“Thus, through abuse of official powers, he committed the embezzlement of funds paid to him as wages, in an amount exceeding 250 basic units, that is, on a large scale. The income obtained through criminal means has been fully reimbursed by the accused,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The accused remains at liberty under a personal guarantee.
