Uzbek Citizens Assured Of Safety In Belarus

Belarus’ Interior Ministry discussed the regulation of the stay and employment of Uzbek citizens. The working meeting was held between Ina Studzienichnik, acting head of the Department of Citizenship and Migration, and Abrorzhon Olimov, a representative of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The sides discussed the situation regarding the entry and stay of Uzbek citizens in Belarus, as well as their employment. Particular attention was paid to a pilot project in Vitebsk Region, where a group of Uzbek citizens arrived for work. The Interior Ministry said the project had demonstrated its effectiveness and efficiency.

Studzienichnik noted that Uzbek citizens who are already in Belarus or plan to come can count on assistance from the Interior Ministry’s migration units in resolving any issues that arise. According to her, the guests are guaranteed safety.

She noted that Uzbek citizens have proven to be responsible people who comply with Belarusian law. The Interior Ministry considers this a basis for further developing cooperation in the field of migration.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to maintain regular contacts and exchange information on current issues.
