On Mother Language Day, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya stressed the importance of preserving the Belarusian language as a bearer of the country’s history and culture.

“On Mother Language Day, we celebrate Belarusian — our language carries our history and culture.

Even as the regime tries to erase it and destroy our national identity, Belarusians will not be silenced.

Our language is our strength. And it will live on in a free Belarus,” the leader of the democratic forces wrote on X.
