The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has announced an increase in the subsistence minimum budget (SMB) effective Aug. 1.
The SMB will increase by 4.1%, or 20.75 Belarusian rubles, to 530.37 Belarusian rubles. The new rate will apply from Aug. 1 through Oct. 31.
The SMB for specific population groups will be:
- Working-age population – 574.38 Belarusian rubles (+19.98 Belarusian rubles);
- Pensioners – 380.86 Belarusian rubles (+14.27 Belarusian rubles);
- Children under the age of 3 – 326.56 Belarusian rubles (+12.46 Belarusian rubles);
- Children aged 3 to 6 – 437.78 Belarusian rubles (+15.12 Belarusian rubles);
- Children aged 6 to 18 – 519.24 Belarusian rubles (+21.65 Belarusian rubles).
As a result of the increase in the SMB, social benefits linked to it, including child benefits and pension supplements, will also rise.
The one-time childbirth benefit will amount to:
- For the first child – 10 SMBs, or 5,303.70 Belarusian rubles;
- For the second and each subsequent child – 14 SMBs, or 7,425.18 Belarusian rubles.
The one-time benefit for women who register with a healthcare provider before the 12th week of pregnancy will equal 100% of the SMB, or 530.37 Belarusian rubles.
The monthly benefit for families raising children aged 3 to 18 while caring for a child under the age of 3 will equal 50% of the SMB, or 265.19 Belarusian rubles.
The monthly benefit for children over the age of 3 from categories of families specified by law will be:
- For children over the age of 3 (excluding children with disabilities) – 50% of the SMB, or 265.19 Belarusian rubles;
- For children with disabilities over the age of 3 – 70% of the SMB, or 371.26 Belarusian rubles.
The monthly benefit for caring for a child with disabilities under the age of 18 will be:
- For children with Level I or II loss of health until age 18, and for children with Level III or IV loss of health until age 3 – 100% of the SMB, or 530.37 Belarusian rubles;
- For children with Level III or IV loss of health after reaching the age of 3 – 120% of the SMB, or 636.44 Belarusian rubles.
The monthly benefit for children under the age of 18 living with the human immunodeficiency virus will equal 70% of the SMB, or 371.26 Belarusian rubles.
Age-related pension supplements will amount to:
- For people aged 75 to 79 – 99.44 Belarusian rubles, or 232.03 Belarusian rubles for those with a Group I disability;
- For people aged 80 and older (including the care supplement) – 198.89 Belarusian rubles, or 265.18 Belarusian rubles for those with a Group I disability.
