Russian forces launched another large-scale missile and drone attack across Ukraine overnight on July 26.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a strike drone hit residential buildings in Kharkiv. One person was killed and nine others were injured, including two children.

Emergency crews from the State Emergency Service also continue efforts to extinguish a fire at a construction hypermarket in Kryvyi Rih that broke out after the strike.

According to the Ukrainian president, Russia launched a total of eight missiles and 136 drones of various types overnight. The strikes targeted the Kherson, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions, as well as Kyiv.

The Ukrainian capital was struck by ballistic missiles, injuring three people.

“Over the past week alone, Russia has used nearly 1,700 drones, more than 1,630 aerial bombs and 95 missiles of various types against Ukraine, more than half of them ballistic. Every day we work with our partners to ensure our warriors have the means to counter these attacks. Russia’s plans for ballistic terror must be thwarted. That is why it is critically important that missile defense systems are delivered on time. Every interceptor missile is literally saving lives when it is here, in Ukraine’s air defense systems, rather than sitting in partners’ warehouses,” he said.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi said that Russian strikes affected 10 regions of the country overnight. The most severe damage was recorded in the Sumy, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in Kyiv.

In the capital, two men and one woman were injured. Civilian facilities were damaged, including a pharmaceutical company and a drinking water warehouse.

About 10 drone strikes were recorded overnight in the Sumy region. Apartment buildings, private homes, a gas station and shops were damaged.

In the Kharkiv region, two people, including a child, were injured during the overnight attacks. Later in the morning, Russia struck a residential area of Kharkiv again. One person was killed, and two children were among the injured. At least 14 private homes were damaged.

Emergency crews in Kryvyi Rih continue to battle a major fire at a construction hypermarket covering more than 16,000 square meters. The fire has been contained, but firefighting efforts are being complicated by ongoing air raid alerts and the threat of additional strikes.

The Ukrainian Air Force said that air defenses shot down one of two cruise missiles, five of seven Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, and 104 of 136 Russian drones. Direct hits by two ballistic missiles and 27 attack drones were recorded at 18 locations. Debris from intercepted targets fell at seven additional locations.
