The court has sentenced political prisoners Hleb Herasimovich and Aliaksandr Milkamanovich in the so-called “Green Network” case.

A year ago, the KGB designated the “Green Network” an “extremist formation.” The authorities included the projects “Belarusian Beehive,” “Green Portal” and the public association “Ekodom” in the list of initiatives grouped under that name. It is also known that Herasimovich and Milkamanovich are the founders of the Belarusian startup school “Malimon.”

According to the Viasna Human Rights Center, Herasimovich and Milkamanovich were each sentenced to six years in a maximum-security penal colony and fined 500 basic units. They were convicted under Part 2 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code (participation in an extremist formation).

The exact circumstances of the criminal case and details of the court proceedings remain unknown, the human rights defenders said.
