Belarus’ State Traffic Inspectorate is stepping up enforcement of traffic regulations over the weekend. Particular attention will be paid to serious violations by motorists and motorcyclists. Enforcement operations will involve covert and mixed monitoring, motorcycle patrols and drones.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast in some parts of the country, the Interior Ministry warned. When driving in wet conditions, motorists are advised to reduce speed, increase the distance from other vehicles, avoid sudden manoeuvres, switch on dipped headlights and ensure that everyone in the vehicle wears a seat belt.

Pedestrians are advised to exercise extra caution when crossing roads, use reflective elements after dark and refrain from using bicycles and personal mobility devices.
