In Brest, the operations of three cafes belonging to the same business entity have been suspended at the request of the State Control Committee. Serious violations were found there.
In two of the cafes, tinctures were being produced from questionable raw materials without approved technical documentation. As a result of the inspection, more than 60 litres of alcohol were disposed of because of improper storage conditions, the State Control Committee said.
All three cafes were using raw materials and food products without documents confirming their quality and safety. Expired products were used in meal preparation. Inspectors also identified failures to comply with food storage conditions, the use of production equipment in unsatisfactory condition and other violations.
More than 550 kilograms of food products were disposed of.
The operations of the three cafes have been suspended until all violations are fully remedied.
