The fourth-generation Geely Atlas may appear in Belarus under the Russian Volga brand. As reported by Chinese Cars, Volga has obtained three certificates of conformity in Belarus for the Volga K40 model, which is based on the Geely Atlas. These documents are necessary to obtain vehicle type approval and begin mass sales of the cars with the issuance of vehicle passports.

The Volga brand in Russia was initially expected to be revived on the basis of Chinese Changan vehicles, but the company from Nizhny Novgorod later moved to a partnership with Geely. The brand will now have three models: the K50 based on the Monjaro, the K40 based on the Atlas and the C50 sedan based on the Preface.

The situation appears ambiguous because BelGee is already operating in Belarus. The company assembles Geely vehicles, including the Atlas.

The publication suggests that certification in Belarus may be linked to the fact that the process in Russia did not go according to plan. Other models were successfully certified there. It is also possible that the certificate was obtained in Belarus because it would be valid throughout the Eurasian Economic Union.
