Russia’s Rosselkhoznadzor prevented the export of cabbage and nuts to Belarus.
Between 2 and 5 April, vehicles carrying 18.5 tonnes of white cabbage and more than 4,000 flower bulbs were stopped in Smolensk Region. The drivers did not have phytosanitary certificates.
The shipment to Belarus was banned. The vehicles were sent back to Moscow to the point of loading. The carriers were held administratively liable.
On 5 April, another vehicle was stopped in Smolensk Region near the Belarusian border. It was carrying 700 kilograms of macadamia nuts from Moscow to Minsk. The driver also did not have a phytosanitary certificate for the cargo.
The nuts were returned to Moscow, and the carrier was held administratively liable.
