The Minsk Prosecutor’s Office inspected 42 private centres offering supplementary education programmes for children and young people.

In 20 organisations, information from the unified state database on offences was not requested when hiring teachers. In five organisations, there were no documents confirming that teachers had relevant educational qualifications, while in 11 organisations teachers had not undergone preliminary and periodic medical examinations.

Some organisations did not coordinate their extracurricular programmes with district education departments, while some had no programmes at all.

In half of the organisations, children were enrolled without the required application. Organisations offering sports services did not always require health certificates from children.

Violations of sanitary and epidemiological requirements were also identified in 29 organisations, including problems with artificial lighting, unsuitable furniture, lack of first aid kits, dirty premises, and the absence of separate toilets for children and staff.

Prosecutors issued 10 submissions and 21 orders. Those responsible for violating sanitary and epidemiological requirements were held administratively liable. A general submission was also made to the Minsk City Executive Committee.
