The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has again reported a violation of the country’s airspace by meteorological balloons. The incident occurred on the night of February 3 to 4. Unlike previous statements of this kind, the report does not directly mention Belarus or specify the direction of the objects’ movement.
“On the night of February 3 to 4, 2026, military radar systems recorded the appearance of new objects resembling balloons in Polish airspace.
Cooperation between the Polish Armed Forces and state security services enables these services to respond promptly, including the seizure of objects and the detention of individuals suspected of involvement in such incidents.
The flights of these objects were monitored and did not pose a threat to the safety of air traffic or Polish citizens. The Polish Armed Forces remain on round-the-clock readiness to ensure the security of the airspace,” the statement said.
