Power engineers in the Homiel Region are dealing with the aftermath of a thunderstorm front accompanied by squally winds and thunderstorms. According to information from Gomelenergo, the severe weather disrupted electricity supply, primarily in the Zhlobin and Svietlahorsk districts.
The outages were caused by power line breaks after trees fell onto transmission lines, as well as damage to utility poles and other power grid infrastructure caused by strong winds.
As of 7:00 p.m., 58 settlements remained without electricity.
More than 40 emergency repair crews and 21 pieces of specialized equipment have been deployed to the restoration effort. Power engineers continue working to restore electricity supply to consumers.
