An unscheduled production shutdown occurred overnight at Hrodna Azot.
According to the company, the Ammonia-3 unit stopped operating at around 2 a.m., followed by the shutdown of the Urea-3 unit, which receives feedstock from it.
“When the Ammonia-3 unit is shut down and during subsequent restart operations, the process regulations require the short-term flaring of combustible substances contained in the process gas in order to dispose of them”, the company said.
