In 2025, residents of Belarus entered into 52,044 marriages. During the same period, 34,813 divorces were registered. This was reported by Belstat.
The average age of men marrying for the first time was 29, while for women it was 26.7.
A total of 25,890 men and 30,000 women entered into a first marriage before the age of 31. Among people over the age of 65, 1,079 men and 713 women registered marriages.
Men from Belarus entered into 1,370 marriages with women holding foreign citizenship, including 1,006 from Russia, 148 from Ukraine, 36 from Kazakhstan, 34 from Lithuania and 16 from Latvia.
Belarusian women entered into 1,928 marriages with foreign nationals, including 1,029 with Russian citizens, 71 with Turkish citizens, 59 with Lithuanian citizens, 55 with Ukrainian citizens and 50 with Kazakh citizens.
Last year, 2.8% of couples divorced less than a year after marriage. A total of 25.4% of divorces were registered after one to four years of marriage, 23.2% after five to nine years, 19.2% after 10 to 14 years, 13% after 15 to 19 years, and 16.4% after 20 years or more.
