A total of 982 Belarusian-language titles out of more than 7,000 were published in Belarus in 2025.
The total print run of all books exceeded 18 million copies.
The statistics were presented by Deputy Information Minister Dzyanis Yazerski, the SB outlet reported.
He noted that the overall print run of all books in the country increased by 0.8 percent. Publishers are seeking to meet market demand. The average print run per title amounted to 2,550 copies.
Last year, 982 Belarusian-language titles were published. Their total print run increased to 2,690,000 copies.
More than 50 percent of books in the Belarusian language were published by publishing houses subordinate to the Information Ministry — Belarus, Mastatskaya Litaratura, and the Zvyazda Publishing House.
Overall, literature was published in 25 languages. This includes a share of educational literature, as well as reprints in foreign languages, including those issued at the request of representatives from abroad. A total of 494 books and brochures were published in the languages of the peoples of the world. Notably, 79.2 percent of all books published in Belarus last year were first editions.
